Toni Dorca is Professor of Hispanic Studies at
Macalester College. He specializes in contemporary Spanish narrative, with a
focus on 19th-century Realism and post-Francoist fiction. His most
recent book is entitled Volverás a la
región: el cronotopo idílico en la novela española del siglo XIX (Madrid:
Iberoamericana, 2004). A member of the Executive Board of the Asociación
Internacional de Galdosistas and the North American Catalan Society, he also
serves as the reviews editor of Anales
Galdosianos. His current research deals with the process of nation
formation in Galdós’ first series of Episodios
Nacionales.
